Lance's First Day Of School: 4th Grade!

10:35 PM

Lance really loved his first day of school! Since there were only two 3rd grade classes, and 2 4th grade classes this year, a great majority of his friends are in his class this year.  He said one of his favorite things about school so far is his new teacher, which is always a great comment coming from your child :)  I gave him a "pep talk" of sorts as he was leaving, reminding him that he's now one of the older kids in the school, so to work really, really hard on being the great role model, especially if he's going to try to work on being a junior-volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club.

Geez, my whole family smiles the same way! I'm the only one who cheeses it in pictures, everyone else smiles like daddy.

I was completely fine sending the kids off to school today, until Lance started to walk away with his ginormous backpack.  He turned back, telling me it felt really weird to walk to school all by himself.  He's always had his big sister in school with him, but they are growing up and finally branching off into their own lives... oh, the knot in my throat is returning!

Believe it or not, Lance has never ridden the school bus before! I wanted to make sure that he took the right bus and got off at the proper spot for him to get to his after school care, so I met up with him at the bus stop.  He saw me, but immediately after waving at me, proceeded to joke and walk with his friends to the club!  He's such a big boy, and sometimes I forget that since he's my baby.  He'll always be my baby :)

I asked Lance the same interview questions as Alex, so here ya go!
