Cheesy Onion Beer Bread
3:19 PM
To go along with the chili I made the other day, I decided to give my first try at homemade beer bread. This is yet another Pinterest find, originally posted here. I used whole wheat flour, and even though the bread was a bit denser because of that, everyone loved it! It went great with the chili, and we've used it to make grilled cheese sandwiches with - fabulous!
Cheesy Onion Beer Bread
Yields 1 loaf
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
2 green onions, sliced thin
12 onces beer
1/4 cup butter, melted
1. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cheese, and green onion. Using as few strokes as possible, mix in the beer until moistened.
2. Pour thick better into a greased loaf pan. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
3. Bake in a 375˚ oven for 50 minutes. Remove and cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Enjoy!
