Bacon Dog Biscuits
12:44 PM
Yesterday we had BLTs for lunch (MMM!), and as I was cleaning up the kitchen afterwards, I remembered a couple of dog treat recipes I have saved but never tried. I recalled at least a few of them using bacon, so we held onto our bacon scraps and grease and started baking!
Alex was the one who helped me, and seeing as she's a vegetarian, she thought the whole process was sort of weird. She is okay with handling meat if she is giving it to the dogs - she agrees that dogs should eat meat as they are natural carnivores, so she thinks of it as "dog food" rather than "meat." I have to admit, I kind of had the chills dumping a bacon pack's worth of grease into my "cookie dough," but I assure you the dogs were quite alright with it :)
We called the dogs into the kitchen once the cookies were ready for sampling, and I think they could smell the bacon-y goodness that were in the cookies.
See Zeus sit.
See Zeus lay.
See Zeus eat!
