Gift Idea: Birchbox Subscription

My newest obsession over the past few months has been perusing makeup and beauty tutorials on YouTube since God did not bless me with the artsy or creative gene.  I forgot which "guru" I heard about this from, but I'm so glad I did and I'm excited to share this with you!  Oh, and I don't get paid for this or get a free subscription - I just really like this!

Birchbox is a subscription service that sends you trial sized high-end beauty products each and every month.  You generally will receive four to five items each month, and sometimes some bonus goodies as well.  If you choose to order a full size of any of your products, you can order it directly through Birchbox, earning points towards discounts on future purchases.  When you start your subscription, you will fill out a short beauty profile so you will receive products to match your complexion and skin type (your gift recipient will get to fill this out for themselves, so don't worry about that fellas!).  Because of the different types of women out there, as well as supplies on hand, boxes may vary between different people in the same month.  The site also has beauty tips and tutorials, as well as how to use the products that have been sent out as samples. All for ten bucks a month.  Its SO much fun!

I ordered this for my sister before she had her baby as her "take-care-of-mama" gift last month, and I went ahead and snuck in a subscription for myself, too.   She was ecstatic :)

This is my second month receiving this fun pink box, and I get so excited when it comes in!

It looks like this month was a special mix by Cynthia Rowley

The boxes are all hand-packaged with care, its amazing how much care the company seems to put into these packages.

The monthly "Hi!" card.  On the other side is a description of each item included

See how nicely packaged it is? Never mind the spilled oil in the box… that was me getting a wee bit excited :P

Got four products and a bonus this month! I really like what I see so far!

I got Redken's Shine Brilliance, which I'm SUPER happy about because I actually was on the look out for something like this.  My hair doesn't get frizzy, but the stupid flyaways drive me nuts!

This lovely nail polish by Zoya in a gorgeous pale rosy-lavender color called Pandora.  Again, I was honestly on the lookout for something about this color!

Product number three I'm really excited about since so much of my beauty products were tossed out when it was packed- a facial cleanser by Purity. I'm hoping to find a good one since my skin breaks out now and then, but dries out SO easily when using a cleanser.  Here's a great way to try out something new!

This Nuxe oil is something I would probably never purchase on my own accord since its pricey, but now that I have the chance to try it out risk free, I'm excited about this product (forgive all the "excited"ness… but I really am!).  I have dry patches here and there on my face that drives me insane, so maybe this may be the answer!

And this month's freebie - a really yummy looking snack bar that the kids are already fighting over.  Haha… they'll never get it!

I really do love this subscription service so far.  Its really fun looking forward to the box coming in each month, and the products that are sent are high-end, allowing you (or your giftee) to try out pricier things that otherwise may be out of the budget to experiment with.

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you with a Christmas/birthday/just-because gift shopping.  Or maybe I just helped you spoil yourself just a little bit each month.  Its worth it :)
