We are at the point where the kids honestly don't need anything because they have everything! Its not that we spoil them, but the past few Christmases and birthdays they have been responsible enough to score some big ticket items (tvs, DSis, stuff like that), and since they aren't really big into toys (and never have been), its been a struggle trying to find good gift ideas for my brats-ies. I don't want to get them something just to fill up space under the tree, but trying to think of stuff that they would really enjoy for more than five minutes has been a struggle for me this Christmas.
Alex is very much into crafts, puzzles, and activities. Out of the blue one day, I wondered what kind of advanced coloring books or kiddie-puzzles there are, and that is how I stumbled across this dot-to-dot book on Amazon! Some of the puzzles exceed 1400 dots, which I'm sure will occupy some of Alex's downtime :)
Here are a few examples of puzzles in the book I got her. Amazon sells a few different themed books - I decided to get the animal version for Alex.
Can you tell what this is? This one isn't too hard to guess (but connecting the dots is a whole 'nother story!)
A closeup of the same puzzle.
If you guessed a giraffe, you were correct! Only 1307 dots in that one.
This one is a bit harder to guess - I couldn't tell just by looking at it.
Another closeup. Look at all those dots!! Oy!
And if you guessed a rhino that uses up 1460 dots, then congratulations, you deserve this book!
I think Alex will get a kick out of this one. Dot-to-dots are a classic school-age activity, but this grown up version sure seems like it will up the ante in boredom busters!
