A while ago I was searching for easy recipes for the kids to help me with, and this idea is one I stumbled across. We've all had pigs-in-a-blanket, but whodathunk to use hot dogs and make it a meal? I certainly never considered it, but then again, I'm not a big hot dog fan. I've had a pack of bison dogs sitting in the freezer for quite a while now that the hubs bought, and I decided it was time to get rid of them. The kids helped wrap their respective foods (Alex the vegetarian had faux-sausage links instead), and we baked them up, and they loooved it! Lance loved slowly tearing off the yummy crescent roll in little bitty pieces, and Alex ate up every single one of hers and didn't have any left over for the next day. This is definitely an easy winner and a fun alternative to normal hot dogs :)
Dogs In A Blanket
1 package refrigerated crescent rolls
8 hot dogs
1. Preheat oven to 350˚.
2. Unwrap crescent roll dough and separate into 8 pieces. Wrap one piece of dough around each hot dog. Place, seam side down, on an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving one inch between each hot dog.
3. Bake 15-18 minutes until crescent rolls are golden brown and hot dogs are cooked through.
