Crock Pot Cheeseburgers

I was intrigued when I saw this simple cheeseburger recipe on a Weight Watchers board a while back, and I finally decided to make it and use up the Velveeta that has been sitting in the fridge for the past three years or so (just kidding...more like two years).  Honestly, you don't even need to use a crock pot for this dish at all considering everything is completely cooked before you put it in the crock, but I did anyways.  I was not impressed - not that it tasted terrible or anything, but it just tasted like a Hamburger Helper meal on a bun (or a cheeseburger/sloppy joe kind of meal).  If you are a die-hard Helper fan, this may be right up your alley, but we will probably not be making this again.  If you decide to make this, you can just add the Velveeta right in the pan and skip the crock pot - I don't see how using the crock would make this dish any better since there isn't much tenderizing to do or any flavor melding.  Well, they all can't be winners!

Crock Pot Cheeseburgers
Serves 6-8

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces Velveeta Light
2 tablespoons FF milk
1 medium green pepper, diced
1 cup onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced

1.  Brown ground beef in a skillet with garlic and pepper until cooked.  Drain.

2.  Combine cooked meat with all remaining ingredients in crock pot.  Mix well and cook on low 6-7 hours.

3.  Serve spooned onto hamburger buns.
